Why Volunteer?

Whether you are interested in a reoccurring volunteer opportunity or would like to volunteer on a more limited basis, take a look below to get an idea of the types of programs that you can get involved in at the DC Dream Center.

Volunteering FAQs

  • Anyone can volunteer with us! We have opportunities for all ages. We do ask that children under 12 be accompanied by an adult, however.

  • Volunteer can serve in any number of ways. From helping cook for our weekly Tuesday Morning Prayer Breakfast or bi-monthly Reconciliation Lunch to assisting our after-school children’s program, to tutoring our youth, to fundraising, there are any number of ways to connect. If you want to start a new unpaid volunteer program or teach our youth or community members a new skill or creative endeavor, we would love to hear your ideas.

  • No. You can fundraise and advocate for the DC Dream Center from any location.

  • None. While there is a monthly time commitment to the mentoring program, there is no commitment requirement for volunteering. We can work with your schedule to find time that works for you to volunteer.

  • We accept volunteers of all ages, however we do ask that anyone under the age of 12 is accompanied by an adult. If you are operating the grill at one of our cookouts or leading a program, you must be 18 or older.

  • We have lots of opportunities to get involved- from Saturday Serve groups, to leading a sports program for children, to accounting. Wherever your skillset fits we can find a way to work with you! Check out the Events & Programs tab for more information on our current programs.

  • Yes! We welcome new talents that can enrich the lives of the people in our community. Volunteers who wish to start their own program simply need to fill out our volunteer form and let us know a bit about you and the program you would like to start. Once we have that information we will connect you with our Program Director to discuss your idea further.
