The DC Dream Center

What We Offer

The DC Dream Center is home to many events and programs, all free and open to our community. Whether you are interested in a regular activity that you can jump in on weekly or monthly, or special events, take a look below to find out what’s going on!

  • Weekly gathering for fellowship, prayer, inspiration, discussion, and community team building. Tuesdays from 8:00am to 9:30am at the Southeast White House (2909 Pennsylvania Avenue SE). If you are unable to attend the whole time it is ok! We just want to get to know you. Please email tammy.phillips@dcdreamcenter.com for further information.

  • Bi-monthly gatherings (first and third Wednesdays from 12:30-1:30pm) that facilitate an environment where urban and suburban, rich and poor, young and old, as well as all races and ethnicities can come together for fellowship, establishing friendships and building relationships. Please email tammy.phillips@dcdreamcenter.com for further information.

  • 6:30pm on Monday (chair yoga) and Thursday evenings, 9:00am on Saturdays.

  • Tuesdays from 5:30-7:30pm (beginners, intermediate and advanced) and Thursdays 5:00-5:50pm (all belts, no beginners), for ages 8+.

  • Helping people obtain employment, write resumes, and find housing through referrals, Job Fairs, employment seminars and more. Please email info@dcdreamcenter.com to learn more.

  • For groups from out of town, who wish to learn more about and serve in the inner city. Depending on the size of your group, we may be able to offer housing at the Southeast White House (up to 12 people). Please email info@dcdreamcenter.com for inquiries.

  • For girls in grades 7-12, join this year-around program that focuses on leadership, empowerment, wellness and growth.

    Program meets every other Saturday from 10AM-12PM starting July 18th. More information and registration HERE.

  • Our Dream Year Program is for individuals who want to learn, serve, and bring their talents and skills to the ministries and running of the DC Dream Center and Southeast White House. The year-long program runs from September through August, and is for individuals ages 18-25. For more information please contact info@dcdreamcenter.com.

  • Saturdays from 9:30am-10:30am for ages 40+. Get fit and have fun!

  • Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday from 12:00pm-1:00pm.

  • Second and fourth Thursdays from 11:30am – 1:00pm with a continental style meal and interactive program.

  • Zoom call on Mondays at 12:00pm. Support and resources for anyone parenting in their senior years.

  • Mondays 12:00-1:00pm. Lunch is provided. Email tammy.phillips@dcdreamcenter.com to RSVP.

Children’s Programs & Activities

  • We connect loving, committed mentors in one-on-one relationships with underprivileged children ages 8-17. Mentors spend ten hours per month with their mentees, encouraging them to grow into self-sustainable, Christ-centered young people. For more information click on Mentoring in the page list.

  • Saturdays from 12:00-3:00pm (except if there is a special event) for ages 13-17.

  • A space for high school students to breathe, have fun, and discover a sense of significance and belonging. Weekly on Fridays from 6:30-8:30pm, dinner is provided.

  • Have fun and learn about the environment! This community based nature series introduces youth to nature through fun activities such as boating, fishing, hiking, climbing and much more.

  • BOSS Tech programs engage students ages 8-11 in educational and developmental activities using PBL (Project Based Learning) for reading, writing and math. The goal is to provide them with academic support and enrich their creativity.

  • Fellowship of Christian Athletes basketball for people ages 12-45 with an intellectual disability.

  • We have partnered with Career Exposure Camp for over a decade for their week-long summer program introducing 6th-9th grade students to professional organizations and to help prepare them regarding their future.

  • For high school students – help others and your community while you get the hours you need.

  • Mondays 6:00-8:00pm for ages 4-19.

  • Tutoring available on request; time and day to be decided with parent/guardian.

  • Saturday afternoons.

  • Hosted on weekdays, beginning in June and ending in August. This program includes food, academic studies, visits to local pools, skating rinks, libraries and amusement parks. Through our partners, children also attend overnight camps including CityKidz Sports Camp and week camps including sailing, basketball and biking.

    Beginning in June and ending in August, our six-week program runs Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
