Gatherings for fellowship, prayer, inspiration, discussion, and community team building. We meet every Tuesday from 8 AM to 10 AM at the Southeast White House. If you are unable to attend the whole time it is ok! We just want to get to know you.
Bi-monthly gatherings (first and third Wednesdays at 12:30pm) that facilitate an environment where urban and suburban, rich and poor, young and old, as well as all races and ethnicities can come together for fellowship, establishing friendships and building relationships.
Helping people obtain employment, write resumes, and find housing- the People’s House is a referral service that strives to meet the needs of the community. We will help you work with service providers and provide assistance where needed.
For groups from out of town, who wish to learn more about and serve in the inner city. These visits may include tours and hands-on service projects. Our Dream Year Program is for individuals who want to learn, serve, and bring their talents and skills to the ministries and running of the DC Dream Center and Southeast White House. The year-long program runs from September 2018 through August 2019, and is for individuals aged 18-25. For more information please contact info@dcdreamcenter.com.
We invite mothers in the community to gather for mutual support and valuable life-skills training. Volunteers provide a meal and childcare so the women can enjoy their time together. Mom’s Night Out happens on the fourth Monday of the month, from 6-8 PM at the Southeast White House.
Connect loving, committed adults in one-on-one relationships with high-risk children ages 6-17. Mentors spend approximately ten hours per month with their mentees, encouraging them to grow into healthy, thriving young people
In partnership with No Limits Outreach we offer a free food distribution service every Wednesday at the DC Dream Center from 12-2pm.
A safe place for the elementary age students, 8-12 years old, where volunteers help and encourage participants. Students receive a snack, and spend time completing their homework and participating in tutoring sessions, cooking classes, swimming, sports, special field trips, art classes, arts and crafts and drama club.
Any child can attend. We are an open program and do not exclude due to geographical boundaries and/or religious views. We require that our parents/guardians and child/children go through an orientation before they start.
We follow the DCPS calendar and are subject to any changes but in a routine week we follow a Monday – Friday schedule, 3:30PM – 6 PM.
A bimonthly gathering for teenagers to discuss real life issues. Teen-led and centered, the students discuss truths and challenge accepted norms in their society as they decide their own beliefs.
Teenagers participate in monthly programs that help serve and strengthen the community.
Occur on days when students are out of school (i.e. Teacher Work Days, Spring Break). Activities may include visits to local museums, monuments and other points of interest.
Hosted on weekdays, beginning in June and ending in August. This program includes food, academic studies, visits to local pools, skating rinks, libraries and amusement parks. Through our partners, children also attend overnight camps
Beginning in June and ending in August, our six-week program runs Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM.
