Ernest Clover

Ernest Clover is the Director of the DC Dream Center (DC|DC) and Southeast White House, (SEWH). He was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Ernest graduated from Defiance College and it was during this time there that he knew he wanted to help people and thought politics would be the best way to accomplish that. It wasn’t until an internship in 2007, on Capitol Hill, that he was exposed to the thought that this could happen in a new way by following the teachings of Jesus. During this time on the Hill he would volunteer at the Southeast White House. Even though he would go on to receive a Master’s in International Relations from the University of Denver, the impact from his time in DC never left him. So when he moved to the DMV he went back to the SeWH to be a mentor, where he has served for 6 years.

Ernest is married to Rachel and they have a son named Dylan and a daughter named Makenzie.

Jason Slattery

Jason Slattery is the Mentoring Program Director of the DC Dream Center and Southeast White House. Jason helps recruit, train, match and onboard new mentors in the storied mentoring program. Jason helps set the program goals, agenda, and activities. As a long-term mentor himself, Jason is a passionate advocate for the mentoring program and the Southeast White House.

Jason has a background in sales and politics, but his passion lies in the nonprofit sector, where he served for seven years as a fundraiser. In addition to other volunteer efforts, Jason currently sits on the Board of Directors for a nonprofit organization that specializes in urban farming. Jason received a Bachelor of Arts from James Madison University and he is recently married to Gaby.
