Amora

For so long when I was at my lowest point Rachel would be the person who would rescue me from that and say “now you’re going to do this”, and it would be so much better and more helpful.

The summer of 10th grade year, I was struggling with attendance and I was considering not going back to school. Rachel and I were on Roosevelt Island and I was telling her about procrastinating and doing different things. I was so confused and I didn’t know what I was doing. She said “let’s make a list, the positive things you can do”. The fact that Rachel was so direct with me about it, made it easy to understand, and not overly complicated. In that 10th grade year I raised my GPA up one entire point, and I got straight As- in the 9th grade I had gotten Cs and Bs. I was using the methods Rachel helped me make, I had her in my corner.
